For the third year in a row, the Elina Svitolina Foundation organised a training camp for gifted children. This year the event was held from September 27 to October 2 at the Elite Tennis Club at the Black Sea, where Elina herself trained until the age of 12; for participation were selected 10 boys and 10 girls under the age of 12. Of these, 8 boys and 8 girls are in the highest-ranking of the Tennis Federation of Ukraine; the remaining participants are the holders of unique “wild card” invitations from the Foundation.
The program was quite intense and included general physical training, game and technical training in tennis with a basket, lessons on tactics, classes with a psychologist, and remedial training (breathing exercises and stretching).
A team of top Ukrainian coaches and masters of sports of the international class attended the camp. In addition, famous Slovak coach Vladimir Platenik not only visited the event but held a training session with children.
Classes were conducted by famous athletes, Honored Trainer of Ukraine and masters of sports: Viktoriia Kutuzova, Valeriy Kutuzov, Denys Pume, Andriy Bakunin, and guest coach from Slovakia Vladimir Platenik. The camp’s head coach is Alena Svetova, a professional of the highest level, the merited coach of Ukraine.
Furthermore, the Foundation awarded Yaroslav Tkachev and Anna-Adelina Nikiforuk, the two strongest athletes, a trip to the French Touch Academy, located in the south of France. In addition, all participants received gifts from the partners of the Elina Svitolina Foundation.
